II Cor. 12:9

" His grace is sufficient for me..."

Patty Bailey

I was not raised in a Christian home, but a home with Christian principles.  We were made to mind our manners, respect our elders and those in authority.  I always had an interest in church and as a teen, determined to marry a preacher.  However, after my teen years, didn’t attend church very much.  I married Terry Bailey in 1968, had a daughter, Nova Marie, and it was through her testimony after attending Neighborhood Bible Time that renewed my interest in church.  Nova and I started attending Prairie View Baptist Church, she asked her dad to attend with us and we never looked back.   Terry had, as a young boy, told God he would be a preacher someday.  Attending church brought back that desire and, long story short, he ended up Pastoring the church where we were both saved.  He pastored first at Lancaster, Ohio for 3 years and spent the last 19 years in Lake City, IL until he went to be with the One he preached about in May of 2011.  My whole world is upside down as I write this bio.  I didn’t think God would use me again as all I’ve known for about 28 years is being a youth pastor and pastor’s wife.  Our friends and fellowship was with pastors and their wives.  Out social time was spent in pastor’s fellowship meetings.  How could I be used again?  However, the Lord is faithful, and I received a phone call that turned out to be a blessing I hadn’t thought I would use again, ever.  Singing, one of my passions, was to be a light in a dark tunnel of my life.  I know a song called ‘Special Friends’ written by a wonderful friend of mine and it says, “God sends us special friends, forever friends, who know just what we need”.  Della placed a call to me that I thought was an invitation to attend her church, but God sent her to be that ‘Special Friend’ at just the right time to ask me to be a part of ‘State of Grace’.  I’m happy to be a part of this group as long as God allows.
